Everything Parents Want to Know About the Program

Mitzi & Henry Saeman & the Columbus Jewish Foundation worked to design the B'nai Tzedek Program in order to accomplish the following:

  • Provide a means for Jewish teenagers to become accustomed to giving both time and money for charitable purposes.

  • Provide an avenue for Jewish teenagers to have continuous contact with the non-profit sector.

  • Provide an opportunity for Jewish teenagers to socialize with other like minded teens.

  • Create a framework for teaching moral values and social consciousness, and for developing the life long practice of charitable giving.

  • Encourage Jewish teens to volunteer their services to local service agencies.

  • Encourage parents and teens to contribute additional monies in addition to the initial start-up monies to the fund (now and in the future).

  • An elegant contribution card will be available for anyone wishing to contribute to an individual fund to commemorate a special occasion.

  • The Columbus Jewish Foundation administers the program.  Funds are professionally invested and managed with all the other Columbus Jewish Foundation philanthropic funds.
