Statement of Purpose The Columbus Jewish Foundation is a donor-centered charitable enterprise dedicated to accumulating enduring assets to support the stability and continuity of Jewish life in Columbus and elsewhere.
The Columbus Jewish Foundation welcomes grant requests from local organizations that are defined as tax-exempt under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Columbus Jewish Foundation supports special, emergency and future needs, particularly those not provided for by the Columbus Jewish Federation’s annual campaign.
Community Grants are made to create new service initiatives and address unmet social service, leadership development, health and Jewish family needs, mainly benefiting the Jewish community. In general, one-time grants for start-up or pilot programs twelve months or less in duration receive the strongest consideration.
Stimulate greater public appreciation for the arts in Jewish life through arts programs of high artistic merit; promote and enhance participation in Jewish arts activities and events; and, encourage activities that further the enjoyment and understanding of visual, performing, and media arts with Jewish content.
These grants are made to support Central Ohio Jewish education and literacy initiatives. There is an emphasis is on Jewish educational advancement of professional Jewish educators and lay leaders, the investigation of alternatives and options for Jewish learning opportunities and addressing unmet Jewish educational needs, program and curriculum development, and strategic planning related to Jewish educational needs.
The Columbus Jewish Foundation reacted swiftly to a March 14 appeal from United Jewish Communities/the Federations of North America with a $25,000 emergency allocation for Southern Israel’s Sderot region, Western Negev, and Ashkelon.
